How Do I Stay Up-to-Date on AI?

My personal recommendations for newsletters, who to follow, and communities.

Many folks ask me how I stay up-to-date on the latest AI news and developments.

It’s not easy!

The industry advances crazy fast, and most people just want to sell you something 🤣

Differentiating real news vs. fake news is another challenge.

So, I want to share awesome AI resources I recommend you check out:

(this list is not exhaustive, so feel free to email me with your suggestions)

Industry

  • I like The Rundown AI’s daily news and updates. There are many others like Superhuman and Neuron, and they all tend to share the same news.

  • Industry-specific deep dives on AI’s role transforming industries by Autopilot

  • AI governance and legal implications by Luiza Jarovsky

  • Covering tech, startups, acquisitions, and fintech by Linas Beliunas

  • Greg Isenberg shares practical tips and tools on how to build a startup and win with AI in 2025

Technical

  • HackerNews helps me understand critical discussions around tech and AI news; it’s a great balance to the typical AI hype you see

  • Andrew Ng’s The Batch and Letters are highly trusted technical sources of info

  • On Twitter, the #buildinpublic community shows you what solopreneurs are vibe coding with the latest AI tools (warning: you’ll feel bad when you realize how slow you’re moving 🐢 )

  • Stay up to date on open source developments via Huggingface leadership and Yann LeCun from Meta

  • AlphaSignal summarizes the latest AI research papers

  • Subreddit r/ChatGPT is nice for prompting tips

Creative

  • Follow creatives on Twitter like Heather Cooper and Nick St. Pierre… there are MANY more. I recommend starting with a few, then see who they’re following to expand your feed.

  • There are many creatives who share their work on Linkedin as well, such as Florent Delavous

Community

I go out of my way to look for interesting AI communities, but it’s a challenge.

I find most communities devolve into people selling you stuff, which is why I gravitate towards open source communities:

  • BrowserUse discord is cool to see AI web automations people are building

  • ManusAI discord is limited, but showcases real use cases for AI agents. Interestingly, ManusAI is actually built on BrowserUse (1st bullet point)!

  • Lovable.dev discord is awesome to learn AI coding and get help and pointers to build your own projects

  • Although not open source, I’m a member of SheLeadsAI which is a fun & safe space community for women learning AI
