I Blew Up My Tiktok Following As Fast As I Could!

Zero to 54M views and 275k followers on tiktok in MONTHS, not years, without paying for expensive unnecessary stuff

Stats

Here are my tiktok stats:

  • 0 to 54M views in < 1 year

  • 0 to 275k followers in < 1 year

WITHOUT paying for:

  • a VA

  • a team

  • courses

  • paid ads

  • masteminds

  • 1:1 coaching

  • skool community

8 months ago… on June 1 2024, I only had 2k followers! 🤯

We’re talking months, not years.

And, what’s amazing?

Anyone can do this. I’ve seen a handful of tiktok creators grow rapidly, following my tiktok playbook I dropped in August 2024.

So, what’s stopping you? 🤔

Highly recommend watching the youtube version of this post, as I show you how to use certain features within the tiktok native mobile app:

Fundamentals

1. Choose 1 Niche

Most people don’t know this…

When I started creating content, I couldn’t decide among these niches:

  • utah outdoor life

  • book club

  • women entrepreneurs

  • AI

However, I didn’t start gaining traction until I chose 1 and committed to it. As you grow more and more, you can incorporate other passion areas in your life into your content — have you seen my skiing videos?? 😂

2. Create New Account to Learn from Other Creators

If you have an old tiktok account that you’ve used like a real human being, I recommend using it as your main account to post from. It doesn’t matter what you’ve posted before.

However, you should still create a new account to use for inspiration. Curate its For You Page so it only shows content in your niche, so you always have a fresh source of ideas.

3. Copy Proven Viral Hooks from Tiktok, Reels, and Shorts

The hook is the single most important part of every piece of content.

It’s the first 5-10 seconds of your video, and it is the biggest factor in determining your video’s performance. Nail the hook, and you’ve got a solid performing video.

Here’s a curated list of 1000+ viral short-form video hooks for inspiration.

4. Get Your First 100 Videos Out of The Way, ASAP

Your biggest enemy?

Yourself 🛑

The #1 reason creators fail is because they quit too early. They quit before tasting a little bit of success. Once you start gaining momentum, it is self-reinforcing motivation, and you’ll keep going naturally.

Don’t worry about AI or Automation when you’re just starting out.

MANUALLY film, edit, and publish your first 100 videos.

Get it out of the way as quickly as possible. When you look back, you’ll realize your biggest roadblock was in your head - all the doubt, fear, insecurity, shame, embarrassment, etc.

No one else, nothing else, is stopping you.

5. Copy Proven Templates in Your Niche

My experience is mainly with talking head educational videos, and some common templates are:

  • Listicles (e.g. 7 youtube videos to learn…)

  • Negative (e.g. stop doing this…)

  • Tutorials (e.g. how to build apps…)

  • Breaking News (e.g. this is insane…)

For your niche, you’ll want to log into your new tiktok account, search for keywords in your niche, watch videos in your niche, follow top creators in your niche, and observe the recurring templates in the most viral videos.

6. Use Specific Keywords

When you watch your video on tiktok, check the search bar at the top.

You don’t want it to say “Find Related Content”.

Instead, you want the search bar populated with your video’s main keyword.

For my AI niche, here are the keywords I’ve found work best:

  • AI

  • AI tools

  • ChatGPT

7. If You’re SERIOUS, Follow This Schedule:

  • Post 3x/day

  • <30 seconds per video

Keep the video duration short, so you don’t burn out.

You do NOT NEED fancy equipment, fancy editing, or fancy looks.

But, it’s up to you what brand you want to build.

I personally want to show up raw, authentic, and (mostly) unedited.

But if you want your brand to be more polished or luxury, then go for it.

‼️ However, don’t let that be an excuse - you still need to post 3x/day, even if you plan to do more editing or prep work.

Just make a decision, then go go go get 100 videos out of the way!

8. Advanced Tips When You Start Having Success

I only have 2 regrets as a creator:

  1. Not starting earlier

  2. Not repurposing my content earlier

I hope all the advice above helps you solve #1.

For #2, start repurposing your content to other platforms. You’ll be glad you started earlier because the initial growth curve on other platforms is steeper than tiktok.

I originally built blotato.com to solve for #2 - I plug in my tiktok video, then instantly repurpose it into posts for linkedin, threads, x, bluesky, newsletter, etc.

And vice versa:

Blotato can take my newsletter or youtube, then repurpose it into posts and scripts.

Another pro tip:

In your bio, offer an irresistible lead magnet that drives fans to your email list.

For example, I offer free ChatGPT prompts, playbooks, tools, and tutorials. I prefer 1 single link, rather than complex linktree’s or stan stores, but it depends on your goals and offers.

Troubleshooting

If your views are consistently < 50:

Something's wrong with your account. Initially, I made a new account and was stuck <50 views. I ended up using an old TikTok account.

If your views are consistently ~200:

Nothing's wrong with your account. But tiktok doesn't know the TOPIC of your videos. Click on a video, check top search bar, it should NOT say "Find Related Content". Be more explicit using niche keywords (such as “AI”) in your video title, description, and audio. Once you fix this, your views should be consistently ~1000 or more.

If a SINGLE video is stuck at low views but rest of your account is fine:

Change that video's privacy setting to PRIVATE, close TikTok app, reopen tiktok app, switch privacy setting back to EVERYONE. This happens to me often with a new tiktok account. With an older legit account, it can still happen especially if your video heavily uses controversial terms (e.g. politics, money).

How to Use “Creator Search Insights”

Please watch my Youtube video to see how I use Creator Search Insights step-by-step within the Tiktok native mobile app. Truly an invaluable tool that helps make content creation data-driven and easy-to-understand for beginners.

Take the time to browse through what people are searching for, and find the top 2-3 keywords in your niche that you want your videos to be categorized in.

48-Hour Creator Search Insights Experiment

First 4 videos I posted on Thursday February 6 2025 (2 days ago).

Last 3 videos I posted Friday February 7 2025 (yesterday).

To keep it simple, I used the exact keywords from Creator Search Insights as the video title and sprinkled it in the description too.

“Views” stats are taken from Saturday morning, February 8 2025, 930am MST.

Obviously, the videos I posted on Thursday have had more time to reach more viewers than the videos I posted on Friday… but I thought it’d be a fun experiment!

TAKEAWAY:

👊 ~239,000 views using Creator Search Insights in the past 48 hours.

Tiktok is great at pushing videos out over time AND surfacing keyword-loaded videos when people search, so I fully expect at least 3 of these videos to grow >100k views.

AI Script Writing Prompt

Here’s an AI prompt that writes a tiktok video script, given some source material, which you paste in at the bottom: {{source}}.

I don’t like reading verbatim from a script, but it’s helpful to organize key points.

Simply copy/paste the output into tiktok’s effect called “teleprompter” in order to see the script while you’re filming.

My workflow when I use this prompt:

  • find interesting AI news OR use perplexity to research for me

  • add it as Source in blotato

  • use prompt “tiktok video script”

  • use prompt “brainstorm tiktok ig video hooks”

  • copy/paste script output into tiktok teleprompter effect

We all know healthcare in the US is super broken.

This is a fascinating application of AI where this woman is using AI to help you fight health insurance denials.

I didn't know this, but health insurers reject about one in seven claims for treatment.

And even though you can file an appeal, doctors often just don't have time.

They're swamped with other stuff.

And you, as a consumer, you don't know how to do it.

It's a lot of paperwork, it's complicated.

Fight health insurance is an open source platform that takes advantage of AI to help you generate health insurance appeals

And she has done this herself, and so she has experience and she knows how it worked, how to navigate it.

Slogan is make your health insurance company cry too.

And the whole premise is that many health insurance denials can be successfully appealed.

You just need to know what to write, how to do it, who to send it to.
